Life is such a complicated mess. Filled with good and bad, right and wrong. Good choices and bad choices. Joy and hurt. Love, desire, dysfunction, loss, reconciliation, hope, and above all else... oxford commas!
Sorry had to toss in that last one :)
Commas save lives. Remember that.
Pain is a part of life. If you expect life to not have pain then you are living outside of the reality of your own life. Pain is part of life. It comes with mistakes. It comes with the other people's actions against you. It comes from mishaps, misfortune, and with good even sometimes. I can certainly say that I have learned the best lessons as a result of pain, as a result of mistakes and consequences. The lessons are good, but the pain... not so much. But then again... I wouldn't trade the lesson just to avoid the pain. The lesson, the life change, the change in my life after that moment is worth the pain of the mistakes.
Now you might ask why am I in pain?
Because love is more important than being right. Period.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Because love is more important than my pride. Period.
I recently wrote another post titled "Proud people don't love well".
Because love is more important than facing consequences. Period.
1 Corinthians 13:11-13
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
